This Eng 102 course will explore how we as individuals develop our moral and ethical standards. It will explore the roles that family and society have on the formation of our ethical and moral standards and the influence such standards have in our daily decision making processes. It will examine five of the major ethical guidelines/theories that have existed in most societies from early times. We all have moral and ethical standards by which we make decisions and live, this course will discuss the psychological and cultural forces that act upon us as individuals, and as members of specific groups, and the extent to which these standards are able to control or influence many of the decisions and choices we make in life.
